The application process for Social Security Disability benefits can be daunting. There are essentially four opportunities to appeal a denial of claim. Once submitted, the initial application takes anywhere from three to six months to receive a reply. After each rejection, you have 60 days in which to file an appeal. The third and fourth attempts take about a yeareach to receive a reply. As you can see, the process can be very lengthy.
